Though I sadly had to skip the sweets, I did indulge in a banh mi chicken satay sandwich, a king corn dog and some strawberry lemonade. I didn’t make much of a dent at Pig Out in the Park this year, I may have to work up (and work out) to that next year.

To cap the summer off, every Labor Day weekend Spokane has a “Pig Out in the Park.” It’s exactly what it sounds like. Food, food and more food! Fair food, street food, good food, yummy food. All kinds. Also several beer gardens and live music throughout the park. And yes, bacon wrapped hot dogs.

Random trips out to Coeur D’Alene, Idaho- only 45 minutes away.

Okay so this wasn’t in Spokane but it was certainly refreshing to spend some quality time with my BFF and her adorable son. I road tripped with her family to New York for an awesome wedding and reunion with old friends. Those quick trips with old friends are always great injections of joy in between getting to know a new place.
